Directions to Hogar Infantil - 'La Gloria'
  1. Take Hwy 805 or 5 South to the Mexican Border.  Be certain to purchase Mexican Insurance before crossing the border.  This is VERY important.  Many vendors are available at exits just before reaching the border.
  2. Cross the border and stay in 3rd lane from the left.   There are many, many lanes and it is easy to become confused.  It will make your journey much easier if you get in this lane immediately.  As you cross the border your should be in the lane that says "Rosarito/Ensenada".
  3. Follow the flow of traffic over the bridge keeping your eyes open for signs to 'Ensenada Directo.'  You will want to take the Toll Road or Direct Route at this point.  The third lane veers to the left and you quickly make a circle under the bridge you were just on.   You have now made a circle and are traveling parallel to the US/Mexican border.  You can see the fence just a few meters to your right.
  4. Continue on this road as it goes up a long hill.
  5. You will have gone about 4 miles as you approach the top of the hill.  Get in the left lane and follow the signs to that direct you to 'Tecate/LaMesa'. You are now travelling East.  Continue about 5 miles and you will pass the Swap Meet on your right.  Caution - If you have not turned toward Tecate you will proceed directly on to the Toll Road and approach a toll booth in a few miles.  Turn around and retrace your steps.
  6. Continue on the same road toward Tecate for 2 more miles and you will notice the guard for a military camp to your left.
  7. Take the first off-ramp to your right toward 'Rosarito'.  This put you on the 'Free Road' to Ensenada or 'Ensenada Libre'.
  8. Continue on this road about 1/4 mile.  You will cross an intersection with a flashing light.  Keep going and take the exit to your right following the signs to LaGloria and San Antonio de los Buenos.  This exit puts you on the new overpass which curves to the left and takes you immediately to the town of La Gloria.
  9. About 1 mile down as you approach the town you will see a big warehouse to your left that says 'Pinturas Corona'.  You are getting close.
  10. Drive to the stop sign.  The police station will be on your right.  It is a white arched building with a tile roof.
  11. Turn left at the stop sign and go up one block to another stop sign.  Turn left again and go up the paved road.  The orphanage is on your right about 1/2 way up the hill.  Welcome!
